Kinesiology

What Is Kinesiology?

Kinesiology is a healing modality that uses muscle testing to identify imbalances in the body.

It is a way to communicate directly with the body, to identify whether the balances are muscular in nature, chemical, energetic, or emotional. Muscle testing is also used to identify the root causes of the problem, and which solutions are required to put the balance back into order.

A number of treatments are offered in a kinesiology session:

  • Nutrition
  • Lymphatic Massage
  • Emotional Freedom Techniques
  • Magnet Therapy
  • Reflexology
  • Bach flower remedies
  • Acupressure Massage
  • Pelvic massage techniques
  • Energy techniques

Kinesiology can be used for a variety of conditions, including:

  • Hormone balancing
  • Infertility
  • Menstrual problems
  • Anxiety
  • Goal setting
  • Weight loss
  • Food sensitivities
  • Nutritional deficiencies
  • Skin problems
  • Low self confidence
  • Irritable bowel syndrome
  • Learning difficulties
  • Phobias
  • Memory improvement
  • Chronic fatigue
  • Addictions
  • Energy balance

Background

In 1964, Dr. Goodheart made an observation that a weak muscle could be treated and the strength immediately improved. From this simple observation, began a life long search for other treatment methods that could improve muscle strength.

Along the way, he discovered factors that could negatively effect the strength and functioning of muscles. In the beginning, he named this area of investigation and discovery applied kinesiology. He chose to use the term kinesiology, as this implies the study of motion, movement and muscle function. (taken from Applied Kinesiology.com)
